More and more professionals are using PDA’s now. What is it anyway? It is a “personal digital assistant” or a mobile device with computer capabilities. Sometimes, it is also called a palmtop computer.
A PDA has become an important gadget of this generation, especially of the working professionals. You rarely see them opening their planners in front of their clients now. What they have now is that mobile device also used as a cellphone. They have said goodbye to the bulky planners that they always have to carry. Everything is now in the PDA – calendar (i.e. schedule of meetings, conferences, hearings, seminars, family occasions like birthdays, anniversaries, etc.) It is intended to remind people of things they might forget because of their busy schedules. They can also type in the PDA. It has its own version of the Microsoft Word, Excel file, and powerpoint. So, in case you really need to write something for your boss, you can do it anywhere you are because of your PDA. Now, this looks like a bad idea. If there is something bad about modern technology, it is making staffs available to their boss anytime. The PDA can also be used to send emails so wherever you are, your boss can ask you send him an email. Again, this is another bad consequence of modern technology. Your workaholic and unemotional boss can demand for work anytime he remembers something. Such a pain in the ass? Probably so…
